“Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying.”

My previous blog entry touched on this subject; however, I think it is worth discussing again.  A question I have been asked multiple times is:  What led you to write a book, and at your age?

There are several reasons, but probably the primary one is that at my age (say early 60's) I began to feel my mortality.  I could see retirement on the horizon.  Also the generation ahead of me was beginning to really fade away, and my generation will soon take its place.  Thus, I wanted to see if I could write a book before that opportunity passes. Suffice to say I did write my first book, and beyond that - I just finished a final draft of the sequel.  I now have completed the story I wanted to tell with the General, Claire and company.

As we enter the Holiday Season – one thought I want to leave you with is a cliché', but a truthful one:  No matter your age or ability – don't be hesitant to try something that you want to do but don't feel you could – because you can!  Or at least try.  Because in the end, you can look back and say "I did try and that is what counts."

Happy Holidays and Enjoy 2017!

Thanks for reading! More soon!
